I recently found a video of one of my first TV appearances, on BBC Breakfast, in 2003, to talk about bullying and my book 'What Have I Ever Done To You? It's been a timely reminder of how important it is to follow your creative ideas from start to finish and put them out into the world.
When I sat down to write my first book I had no idea where it would take me or that it would lead to all the work i've now done as a speaker. I started with a real passion for my subject and a story I wanted to share for the benefit of others. It was an idea that simply grabbed me and wouldn't leave me alone until it was done.
I've had enough feedback to know my work has made a real difference and helped a lot of people, so i'm writing this as a reminder to myself and anyone else with an idea for a creative project that won't leave them alone - to create it. Follow your instincts, inspirations, intuition, passion. You don't need to know in advance where it will take you and you uncover and learn so much along the way.
